Our financial planning process is simple & clear & incorporates the 6-step process defined by the Financial Planning Institute.
Establishing & defining a professional relationship
Our advisors will explain clearly to you the services that we provide & define our responsibilities. They will also communicate how their fees are earned & to advise you that you are under no obligation to proceed with any advice offered. They will also inform you of their specific qualifications, experience & accreditation levels.
Gather data, including client’s goals
Our advisor will ask for information about your present circumstances & goals & this will be done via a financial needs analysis. Other documents will also be completed which enables us to gather information on any relevant products that the client currently owns.
Perform analysis of client’s present circumstances
The data gathered will be analysed using our unique methodology, which will include an assessment of existing products.
Develop & present solutions
Flowing from the analysis described above, our advisor prepares recommendations on how to achieve desired solutions in the various areas of long-term financial planning & will present these to you in a clear & uncomplicated way. It is your decision whether you wish to implement all or some of these recommendations, however, our advisors are able to assist you by any revisions that you might require.
After a decision has been made on how to proceed, our advisor then seeks to implement the solutions agreed upon. This usually requires preparation & signing off of appropriate documents, correspondence with product providers & other reasonable activities that are necessary to give effect to these solutions.
Post implementation training
Some of our preferred products are of a more complex nature than products previously used, however, it is our opinion that these offer greater value & can be enhanced significantly by effective use. Hence, we conduct regular training programs where our staff train clients on how to benefit more effectively from their products.
Our advisors conduct regular reviews of clients’ circumstances & how products & solutions that were developed are performing vis-à-vis clients’ needs & their ongoing relevance. SWM attaches strong financial incentives to its advisors performing formal annual reviews
